Hajime!

Welcome to PTMP. This is a blog about me and my interests. That may sound a big selfish but it is what it is. I am not writing this blog to preach, convert, inspire, or even entertain anyone. This blog is basically an outlet, memory dump, guidepost, and motivator for my own personal growth. That being said, my interests may align with your own. If you have an interest in world politics/events, psychology, strength and conditioning, actions shooting sports, MMA, judo, hunting, fine firearms, movies, adventure travel, food, books, disaster preparedness, bourbon, wine, and some of the other finer things in life then pull up a chair.

Now, fair warning, you may find some of my posts boring. I am going to use this blog as a training log. The fact that it is out there for any intrepid web lurker to come across is meant to motivate me to get my ass to the gym, the range, the dojo, the office, the world. So if I haven't put some numbers up in a while or a summary of what I have been doing, feel free to berate me. I will feel free to erase your comments should I find them inappropriate.

And now a little about myself. I am a married lawyer in my late 20's living in a southern state. You will likely learn more about me as the blog goes on as necessarily I will be putting more stats and numbers on myself on the blog. However, personal and web security is another interest of mine and so don't expect to learn much more about me than what you already know. Perhaps at some later date I will truly go public with this blog but for the time being I shall enjoy basking in anonymity.

As stated earlier this blog is here to help me reach my goals. You will not be privy to all those goals as progress towards some of them cannot be measured. For the most part, this blog will address my big three. Strength and conditioning, USPSA/IPSC shooting, and judo.

Strength and Conditioning:
Short terms goals, that being one year, are to hit 200/300/400/500 for at least 5 reps in the standing overhead press, bench press, squat, and deadlift and 20 deadhang pullups. Current numbers are around 150/250/285/455 and 5. Squat has been impaired due to some knee issues but is progressing nicely.

Long term goals: The 2/3/4/5 is achievable, at that point I plan on hopefully increasing to peak around 300/415/500/650. This, however, will be tempered with my conditioning goals as well. These are more hard to define however I would like to be hitting a 5k at the 18min mark and a sub 55 second 400m time.

USPSA/IPSC
Short term goal is to have my A card in the production class by the end of next years competition season. Currently shooting in the unclassified division due to not shooting many matches. However, my match scores have me in the middle of the C division. I always seem to screw up the classifiers.

Long term goal is obviously to achieve Grand Master in the production class.

Judo
Short term goal is to be back in judo and have my yellow/orange belt by this time next year. When and if I have the opportunity to "get back on that horse" has yet to be seen.

Long term goal is obviously to earn my black belt without breaking any more bones.

So that is where I am right now. I will soon be putting up some other goals, travel, adventure, hunting and whatnot, so stay tuned for that.  And so, without further ado, Hajime!
